Charles "Chuck" Randall Maxey

Charles "Chuck" Randall Maxey, age 55, of Statham, Georgia passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Chuck was the son of the late Thomas and Donna Hammond Maxey of Statham. He attended New Emmanuel Church in Winder. Chuck retired from Gwinnett DOT after 30 years. He always had a special snack and because of that he earned the nickname "Cheeto". He was a member of Dacula Masonic Lodge #433. Chuck was always the funniest person around. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and restoring his classic Mustang, but his favorite thing was spending time with his family and especially his grandkids.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Barbara Robertson Maxey, and his sons Matthew (Renee) Maxey and Jimmy (Christy) Sudduth. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Casey Maxey, Alexa Sudduth, and Hunter Sudduth; two sisters: Amy (Devon) Starnes and Beth (Scottie) Dukes; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home. They will also have a visitation on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 prior to the Funeral Service in Smith Memory Chapel. Martha Baker will officiate.
