

Born on November 24, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia. Charles was the beloved son of Fred and Annie Stroup. Charles has one brother, James Otis (Betty) and his niece Sandy that he has been close with throughout the years. Charles and Otis grew up in the Chastain Park area of Atlanta.
Charles married Ann Robbs on March 2, 1957, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. He was a devoted father to Connie Hart (Tom), and Lynn Harper (Steve) and a proud grandfather to Daniel Wilkinson (Becca) and Brittney Phillips (Trevor). His great grandchildren Bentley, Natalie, Riley, Emery, Elsie and Matthew brought him limitless joy.
Charles was a proud veteran who deeply loved his country. He served active duty and reserves.
He dedicated his career to being a butcher at Big Apple, Pace, and Harris Teeter grocery stores. Charles made sure his family always had top quality beef for their meals. Outside of work, he enjoyed serving at First Baptist Church of Atlanta as an usher. Charles and Ann attended the Crusaders Sunday School Class and were always a model of a Godly life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 1 at Smith Memory Chapel, 755 Atlanta Highway, SE, Winder, Ga 30680, with visitation from 1:00pm until 2:00pm and service at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer Association or America Veterans Association.
