

Deborah B. Whiteside of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on November 22, 2025, at the age of 73. She was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Nathan and Jacquelyn Birchfield. Deborah was an accomplished writer, history buff, and she enjoyed studying genealogy. She loved nature and especially her trips to the mountains. Deborah loved to sing and aspired to be a singer and actress. She spent many of her days working alongside her husband as his business partner with Whitelight Design. Deborah attended Free Chapel/Gwinnett and she loved the Lord and looked forward to His return.
In addition to her parents, Deborah was predeceased by her daughter, Dixie Griffin, and her infant sister, Nancy Birchfield.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Willis Whiteside; daughters: Tammy (Philip) Owens of Dacula, Dorie (Arthur) Madonia of Woodstock, and Candi (Steven) Dewberry of Dacula; ten grandchildren: Jessica (Travis) Hurt, Ashley (Preston) Dunford, Christian Vance, Gabe Griffin, Matthew Madonia, Jonathan (Bella) Madonia, Antonia Madonia, Aiden Owens, Skylar Dewberry, and Dylan Dewberry; three great-grandchildren: Levi Dunford, Harper Hurt, and Briggs Dunford; and many bonus grands and great-grands.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel with burial to follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Smyrna.
