

She was a 1956 graduate of Statham High School where she graduated with honors as the Valedictorian and a member of the last graduating class at the high school. In her spare time she enjoyed putting puzzles together. Mrs. Hunter was an active member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church and she retired with Regions Bank as a bookkeeper.
Mrs. Hunter is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charles Franklin Hunter, and parents; Thomas Asbury Caper and Laura Thomas Casper.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by her son, Charles Gregory (Shannon) Hunter of Winder; brothers, James Clinne Casper of Elberton; sister, Gaynell Bentley of Winder; two grandchildren, Zoe Demos and Angelica Coleman; one great-grandchild, Mason Coleman; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Doris Jean Hunter will be held on 4:00 PM Sunday, March 4, 2018 in the Smith Memory Chapel with Revs. Jennifer Horton and Doug Friesema officiating. Burial will follow the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family has respectfully requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Mrs. Hunter to the Pleasnt Hill Presbyterian Church, Winder or to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries at www.jsm.org
