

George Washington Patton, age 82 of Winder, passed away on July 8, 2022. George loved the Lord. He loved his family and enjoyed eating out with them at the Golden Corral. He was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and loved watching them on television.
George was predeceased by his mother and step-father, Mary Josephine Patton Foster and William F. Foster; his loving grandparents who helped raise him: Leonard P. and Susie Norris Patton; his special aunt and uncle who also helped in his raising: A.T. and Margaret Patton; brothers: Paul L. Foster, Jack W. Foster; and sisters: Betty L. McIntyre, Jenny L. Grant, and Bonnie R. Miller.
George is survived by his wife, Donna McLelland Patton of Winder, GA; brothers: Michael W. Foster of TN, and Thomas B. Foster of TN; sisters: Susan A. (Raymond) Harrison of TN, Peggy L. (Etsel) Breeden of TN, and Mary L. Foster of TN; step kids: Jimmy McMurray of Palatka, FL, Wayne (Anjanete) McMurray of Hanford, CA, Thomas McMurray of Palatka, FL, Libby (Dave) Musselman of Winder, GA, Rick Hardin of Loganville, GA, and Dan (Patty) McMurray of Lilburn, GA; grandkids: Maeghan (Kris) Deitz of Statham, GA, Joseph (Amy) McMurray of Johns Creek, GA, Billy (Anna) Cowart of Clairmont, GA, and Kaylan (Roland) Baker of Winder, GA; and great-grandkids: Tyler Madison of Statham, GA, Braydin Deitz of Statham. A Celebration of Life memorial service for George Washington Patton will be held in Smith Memory Chapel on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 2:00 pm. A visitation for family and friends will be from noon until service time at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA.
