Mr. Grant L. Dooley

Grant L. Dooley, age 66 of Winder, Passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015. He was a member of The Winder First United Methodist Church and The Seekers Sunday School Class. Grant was a pharmacist for Jefferson Drugs and earned his Bachelors of Science degree in pharmacy from The University of Georgia and continued to be a huge Georgia Bulldog Fan. Grant loved his community and had been a past member of The J. C.’s and was a square dance caller for The Jug Tavern Squares and he called on occasion for the Classic City Squares. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Dorothy Hendrix Dooley. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Phyllis H. Dooley of Winder; two daughters, Jennifer Twitty (John) and Maurnie Thomson both of Winder; two sisters, Janice Medlock (Arnold) of Columbia, SC and Lynn Powell of Woodstock; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Joshua, Michael, Jacob, Emma and Rebecca. One niece and one nephew also survive. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 6 until 8 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 4, 2015 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA with Rev. Terry Tippens officiating.
