Harry Lee Neville, 79, of Winder, GA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 3, 2026. Born on November 27, 1946, in McBean, GA, Harry lived a life defined by faith, family, and community.
Harry was born and raised in McBean, GA, and attended Hephzibah High School, graduating in 1965. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving for four years during the Vietnam War era while he was stationed in Warner Robins, GA. He married the love of his life, Beverly Lamberth, in Augusta, GA, on September 21, 1968. Following his military service, Harry completed his studies at Middle Georgia College, graduating in 1973. He then accepted a position with the Internal Revenue Service in Nashville, TN, where their sons, Jon and Matt, were born. A transfer with the IRS brought the young family to the metro Atlanta area, where the boys were raised in Lilburn, GA. Harry and Beverly later moved to Buford, GA, before ultimately settling in Winder, GA, in 2003, where they continued to share a life rich in love and care for others.
Harry poured his energy into being present in the lives of his family, teaching Disciple Bible Study and Sunday School, and singing joyfully in the choir. Deeply involved in his church life, he served at Harmony Grove United Methodist Church in Lilburn, GA, and later at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church in Dacula, GA, where he and Beverly were charter members.
His smile was brightest when he was surrounded by loved ones, watching or playing a game with family, attending sporting and school events of his children and grandchildren, and saying grace before every meal. Harry will always be remembered for showing up whenever he had the chance. He never missed a game, a recital, or an opportunity to support those he loved. He was also the one everyone called when something needed fixing. Whether it was hanging a picture, repairing a leaky faucet, or planting flowers, shrubs, and trees, there was no project too big or too small for him to tackle.
Harry had dogs throughout his life, beginning in childhood, and dearly loved them. Some of the funniest family memories come from his encounters with them, and no matter what mischief they (or he) created, they always seemed to end up at his feet or curled up in his lap. He also found great joy on the golf course, especially when spending time with his closest friends. His laughter, his kindness, and his steady presence will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Lamberth Neville; his sons, Jon Neville (wife Kimberly) of Atlanta, GA, and Matt Neville (wife Tiffany) of Winder, GA; his grandchildren, Andrew Neville of Wichita, KS, Emma Neville of New Haven, CT, and Avery Neville Davenport (husband Joshua) of Pace, FL; and his great-grandson, Gabriel Davenport.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 11th at 2:00 PM at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church in Dacula, GA, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Pantry at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church (https://tphm.org/donate) or to the PTSD Foundation of America (https://ptsdusa.org/).
