Born in Dawson, AL, to the late James A. and Laura Roberts Carnes. He was a WWII veteran. His parents, and grandson, Joshua Johnson preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his wife, Lucille Carnes of Lawrenceville; sons, Rick Johnson of Lawrenceville and Scott and Debbie Scarborough of Corydon, KY; daughter, Del and Joey Lovinggood of Winder; grandchildren, Crystal and James Manors and Tiffany and Justin Langley; and 1 great-grandson, Brayden Joshua Langley.
The family received friends Sunday, December 18, 2011. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 in Smith Memory Chapel with Chaplin Scott Scarborough officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, ALArrangements under the direction of Smith Memory Chapel, Winder, GA.
