Mrs. Hazel Sims

Hazel Sims, age 87 of Winder, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015. She was a member of Winder First Baptist Church and The Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. She worked for Little and Jennings CPA Firm. She loved to garden and loved her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Fred and Bessie Lee Tarpley Wood and her husband, Maurice Sims. She is survived by two sons, Mike Sims (Pat) and Randy Sims (Lynn) both of Winder; a daughter, Debbie Thrasher (Dr. Doug) of Woodstock; a brother, Douglas Wood of Gainesville; two sisters, Betty Ann Segars and Sara Chandler both of Winder; six grandchildren, Matt Sims, Brianne Miller, Jordan Thrasher, J. R. McDaniel, Jena Sims and Hannah Sims. Six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Winder First Baptist Church with Dr. Douglas Thrasher, Rev. Mike Walston and Rev. Jordan Thrasher officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:00PM before the service at First Baptist Church. Contributions may be made to the Winder First Baptist Church Building Fund.
