Mr. James "Beau" Mercer Jr.

He was born in Atlanta, GA to the late James Wesley Mercer, Sr. and Jimmie Lee Oden.

He was a graduate of Bass High School, Class of 1969.

Beau' met his wife in 1993 in Savannah. They were married at Isle of Hope.

He was a skillful carpenter and a talented musician and singer. Over the years, he toured with the bands Sparkle, Free Wheelin', Laredo, Rounder and Norman's Bait and Tackle Choir. He enjoyed collecting and refurbishing antiques. He loved animals, often taking in strays and helped them find forever homes. His faithful companion Lulu was by his side as he passed.

He is survived by his wife, Lynne Reed Mercer; a brother Gregory Michael Mercer (Mary) of Norcross; sisters Cynthia Diane Brennan (Terry) of San Diego and Patricia Annette Summerlin (Donald) of Daytona Beach, two brothers-in-law Dennis Reed (Palma) and Douglas Reed (Paula) both of Savannah, GA; six nephews, four nieces and four great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM Saturday, June 25th at Bethlehem Church, 548 Hwy 11 North, Bethlehem, GA 30620.
