

Jean Dickson Hall, age 90, of Winder, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Jean was born January 25, 1933 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to parents Benjamin Chisholm Dickson and Estella Mary Wisser. Jean was raised Presbyterian and continued to practice faith into her adult life. In 1955 Jean married Clarence “Chuck” Makeig Hall, Jr. and the two would go on to live in several states and countries as well as raise three children. Chuck and Jean lived in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Florida (three times), New Mexico (twice), Ireland, North Carolina. The couple retired to Florida and Jean remained there until 2021 when she moved to Georgia.
Jean was always working with volunteer groups. Even throughout her several moves, she was especially involved in the Church. Her volunteer work included adult education, knitting shawls for the church, scarves and caps for shelters, and caps and blankets for newborns. She even served as a docent at the Governor’s mansion in Raleigh, North Carolina. Jean invested heavily into her friendships and she maintained several lifelong friends throughout her family's many moves.
In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in passing by her husband of 61 years, Chuck Hall, Jr.; son Gregory Alan Hall; and daughter-in-law Eleana (Najmy) Hall. Jean is survived by her children: Jeffrey C. (Jane) Hall and Suzanne Hall (Mark) Stout; grandchildren: Ashley Hall (Cameron) Smith, Sean Patrick Hall, Ian Anthony (Brooklyn) Stout, Benjamin William Hall and Samuel Jacob Hall; and great grandchildren: Jameson Walter Stout and Warrick Latimer Stout.
