John moved to the North Georgia area from Tucson, AZ, in 1990. He attended Black Creek Baptist Church in Commerce. John was the founder and owner of Aircrane, Inc an aerial crane service. Helicopters were his lifetime love and he was an Aerial Specialist Consultant, well respected among the S58 community. Everyone who knew John knew he was BAMF. He loved his farm and riding his motorcycle, he was a history buff, and he especially loved his family and his furbabies: Sambo, Annabelle, Baloo, and Deuce Coupe.
John is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Haertsch (his MLL) of Commerce. He is also survived by his son J.R. Haertsch of Bogart, step-sons Cain and Gray Brown of Commerce, daughters Christine (Jamey) Culberson of Buckhead, GA, Brandy Haertsch of Redman, WA, step-daughter Bailey Brown of Bethlehem; five grandchildren: McKenna Bradley, Tanner Culberson, Veida Besser, Trey, Trevor and Merritt Culberson, and a great-grandchild Sutton Arnold. Survivors also include two sisters: Sue Ford of Tucson, AZ and Alyce (Jim) Gorman of Benson, AZ.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.SmithMemoryChapel.com for the Haertsch family. Smith Funeral Home, Winder, has charge of arrangements.
