Jonathan was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to so many. He played softball for many years and coached everything from t-ball to lacrosse. He was an avid Alabama football fan for over 40 years.
Jonathan is survived by his wife of 19 years, Joanna Moore; sons, Riley Patrick Sample and Jacob Brooks Moore; parents, Richard and Sandra Moore; brother, Michael Moore (Cher); uncle Stephen Allison (Josie); uncle Mark Allison (Sayyora); uncles Mark Moore and Mike Otten; stand-in aunt Judy Cole; cousin Christy Hamilton; cousin Michele Miles (Zack); cousin Miranda Allison-Rosenblum (Ben); cousin Stephen Allison; many second cousins, in-laws, nephews, and one niece; and multiple coworkers who were more family than friends.
He is proceeded in death by his aunt Lynn Allison; stand-in uncle David Cole; grandparents: Johnnie and Van Moore, and O.C. and Margie Allison.
Jonathan battled leukemia and pancreatic cancer for the last few years of his life. His persistent optimism during his journey inspired so many others. He reached out and affected the nurses, techs, doctors, receptionists, medical assistants, and fellow patients during his chemo and radiation treatments. Ultimately cancer took too much from Jonathan. His fight was prodigious and admirable, and he will forever be remembered for the lives that he touched both before and during his battle.
