Joseph A. Alaimo, age 82, died on Monday, January 31, 2022 and with truly the greatest sadness, the family has lost their beloved Father and Grandfather. Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Phyllis and his beloved first born child, their son Joe. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his favorite daughter Kim Ellen Alaimo and his beloved grandson Mark Joseph Alaimo. He is survived by his brother Robert, a number of beloved nephews and nieces, as well as a two very special brothers-in-law and several very special sisters-in-law, special cousins and some very special friends.
Joe and his wife had known each other almost their entire lives and loved each other almost as long. Joe was a very proud Navy Veteran, he was enlisted for 6 years and thoroughly enjoyed his time while in. He met up with Phyllis after he was discharged and almost immediately they became an item. They were engaged for a year and then were married and had been happily married and best friends for 58 years. They led a charmed life until the death of their son 13 years ago. But they were always there for one another and nothing could separate them.
Joe had many professions in life, he was trained as a Butcher, he was a salesman, and a Union Painter, all in New York. Then in 1979 he moved his family out of New York to sunny south Florida, where he worked as a Construction Manager for Motorola for 25 years. He retired from Motorola and worked part time as a Security Guard, until Motorola hired him back as a consultant, which he happily did for a while.
Three years ago he lost his one true love Phyllis and he never fully recovered. Every single day he mentioned how much he missed her. It is with the greatest hope that they have reunited with each other and their son in Heaven. He will forever be missed by his daughter and grandson as well as a host of family members and friends.
