Thelma “Joyce” Blewett, age 96 of Winder passed away Monday, December 21, 2020. She was a native of Woodbridge, CT. Joyce retired as a nursing aid with Laurel Heights Hospital in Shelton, CT and then retired as a dispatcher with the Ansonia, CT Police Department.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Estelle Blake Root. Joyce is survived by a son, Dr. John Blewett (Marilyn) of Austin, TX; a daughter, Sherry Patchen (James) of Athens, GA; four sisters, Mary White of Bethany CT, Nancy Rich of Woodbridge, CT, June Hennessey of Sarasota, FL and Karen Root of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
