Mr. Thompson was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the American Legion 10th District where he served as Vice Commander, the VFW serving as the Post Commander 53 of Winder and a member of the Monroe Moose Lodge.
Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his parents; Emitt O'Neal Thompson and Babe Suton Thompson.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his sons; Kenneth O'Neal Thompson and Jackie Wayne Thompson; daughters, Wanda Lynn and Lisa Keever; sisters, Rita Sutton and Janice Danley; grandchildren, Justice O'Neal Thompson, Lauren Elaine Thompson; Aider Jack Thompson, and Sadie Green Corbin; and great grandchildren, Coty Sanders and Christopher Sanders.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the American Legion. Further details will be announced by Smith Funeral Home.
