

Lester “Mack” Douglas Clack, 81 of Winder, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was a native of Barrow County and a member of Midway Christian Church. Mack was a 1962 graduate of Winder-Barrow High School and a veteran of The US Army. He spent 35 years in the grocery business as produce manager, earning several awards for his achievements. He worked for Colonial, Big Star, and retired from Ingles in Winder. Mack was often known as the whistling produce man. In his spare time, Mack loved to garden and grow tomatoes where he would give them to his friends and he loved Georgia Bulldawg Football. He loved his wife and family and the greatest joy of his life, his grandchildren.
Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest J. and Roxie Miller Clack; his brothers: Skeet, Eugene, Richard, and Walter Clack; and two sisters: Eura Lee Bradford and Joyce Clack. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Allen Clack of Winder; his daughters: Bonnie Willard (Mike) and Nancy White (Jerry) both of Winder; a sister, Mary Lee Ivey of Montgomery; grandchildren: Bree Baxter, Audrey Willard, Nicholas and Lily White; his niece-daughter, Susi Hayes; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 5, 2024 from 5PM until 8PM at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Funeral Services will be at 2PM Saturday, July 6, 2024 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Pastors Joey Durmire and John Burchfield officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. Donations may be made to Midway Christian Church or the charity of your choice.
