Vicky Welden, 76 of Winder, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026. Vicky grew up in Statham and graduated from Winder-Barrow High School in 1968. She went on to earn her nursing degree at Athens Technical College and spent the next 30 years serving others, most of which at her hometown hospital, Barrow Medical Center. She truly had a selfless life loving others. She especially loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them at the beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Wilson McCain and Mary Dooley McCain; her loving husband, Lewis Glen Welden; and her brothers, Larry and Jonny McCain. Vicky is survived by her daughters, Kelli (Ricky) Cash and Kerri Shaw both of Winder; her son, Keyton Welden of Commerce; and her grandson, Caleb Shaw of Royston.
