Mary Anne Long

(July 20, 1933 – June 28, 2021)

Mary Anne Meeler Long went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 87, after an extended illness. She passed away peacefully at her residence in Farmington, GA

A native and longtime resident of Oconee County, Mrs. Long was born on July 20, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Frank Marion Meeler and Bessie Mae Cheek Meeler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ray McCoy Long, her son, Larry Michael Long, her sister, Lillian Mae Meeler Davis, and her Brother-in-law, Dewey Lester Davis.

Mrs. Long grew up during the Great Depression, life was not easy, but she was determined to do her best and live life to the fullest. Mrs. Long was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always supported and attended the activities of her family.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald McCoy Long (Wanda) and Gregory Frank Long of Watkinsville, one daughter Mary Elaine Long Dickens (Stanley) of Watkinsville; Grandchildren: Tripp Lamar Edwards (Penney), Camille Elaine Dickey (Brian), Tabitha Megan Long (Bill), Zoe RaeAnn Long, Brody Shea Rowland, and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers for their dedication, patience, and love.

A Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Barrow Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Anthony Costa officiating. The family will receive friends between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home.
