Matthew Watkins

Mr. Watkins was a 1990 graduate of Winder-Barrow High School and an alumni of the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business. Matthew was the founder and operator of LogoSurfing of Winder. He along with his wife were involved with the Barrow County of Chamber of Commerce and was proud to call himself a Winder businessman. He was very involved his children's lives, in particular, serving as a football and soccer coach. He was also an avid outdoorsman loving all things related to fishing and nature. Matthew will be best remembered as a loving, caring, and devoted family man that would do anything for his wife and children.

Mr. Watkins is preceded in death by his father, William Dewitt "Chigger" Watkins.

Mr. Watkins is survived by his loving wife, Haruko Ventura Watkins of Winder; children: Chase Christian Watkins and Chloe Isabella Watkins both of Winder; mother: Jo Watkins; sisters: Tara Farmer of Winder and Nickolette Banks of Albany and a host of extended family and friends also survive.

A celebration of life service honoring Matthew Watkins will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Goddard officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday evening, June 5, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home.

The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Matthew Watkins to educational fund for their children. The account has been set up at Bank OZK in Winder and checks should be made out to "Watkins Education Fund" or Haruko Watkins.
