
Robert Paul Kruger “Bob”, age 86 of Winder, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was a member of The Winder First Baptist Church. Bob proudly served his country, retiring after 20 years of service with the United States Navy. While in The Navy, Bob served on The USS Wilkes-Barre and The USS Portsmouth before continuing his career in naval aviation as an aircraft mechanic. His final years in the Navy were served as a flight engineer on C-118 and C-130 aircraft with the military transport service. He traveled to over 45 countries including Vietnam. He continued serving the public as a Sheriff’s Deputy, retiring from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office in 1991. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Harry and Edna Susan Davis Kruger; his first wife, Grace Kruger and a daughter, Susan Kruger. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Mary Lou Roscover Kruger of Winder; two sons, Robert Kruger of Independence, MO and David Kruger (Jill) of San Diego, CA; four daughters, Gloria Corder of Las Vegas, NV, Tina Kelly of Independence, MO, Nancy Bryan of Lawrenceville and Jodi Craig of Manchester, New Hampshire; three sisters, Irene Wood of St. Pete, FL, Edna Goudy of Pinellas Park, FL and Ruth LePerson of Dunedin, FL; five step-children, Anne Walding of Orlando, FL, Burk Malone of Covington, Cindy Parker of Chamblee, Maggie Turner of Grayson and Tammy Grovogel of Winder.
