Walter Phillip "Phil" Taylor, age 76 of Winder, GA, passed away on January 22, 2026. He was born in Burlington, IA, to the late Walter Eugene Jr. and Mary Taylor. Phil was a Teamster for fifteen years and had a twelve year career as a Pipe Fitter. He was a member of Winder First Baptist Church. Phil was a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and he enjoyed reading.
In addition to his parents, Phil was predeceased by his daughter, Dawn Lumpkin. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dr. Sharon Taylor; daughters: April Taylor, and Karen (Peter Lorenz) Taylor; grandchildren: Saige Lumpkin and Eloise Lorenz; and brothers: Ben Taylor and Mike (Phyllis) Taylor.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be in Smith Memory Chapel after the Visitation at 2:00 pm. The Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Winder, GA.
