Barbara Joan Strachan

It is with great sadness that we announce mom’s death from complications after having a stroke.

Barbara was born in England and emigrated in 1951 to Canada with her husband and two young sons. Beloved wife of the late Munro (1982). Dear mother of Alan (Marian), the late Andrew (1953) and Janet (Wayne) Wegner. Loving grandma of Andrew (wife Helen), Ian and Jessie. Dear great grandma to Vivienne and Penelope.

Barbara was a strong woman, who had a long, active and healthy life. She devoted her life to family, her faith and contributing to the community through her volunteer work at St. Mary’s Anglican Church and as a part of Seniors’ groups. She will be fondly remembered by all of her family and friends.

There will be no visitation or service due to the pandemic. She will be laid to rest at Victoria Memorial Gardens with her husband and younger son. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff at Sun Parlor Home, Leamington, for their loving care of Barbara for the last two years.

In kindness, donations may be made to the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society or to a charity dedicated to animals, as mom gave a loving home to many pets throughout her life and cared deeply for them.
