Elaine passed away peacefully into the arms of her loving Saviour, The Lord Jesus Christ, at the age of 101 years. John 3:16.
Predeceased by Mother-Gladys Hattie Longley (nee Bernie), Father Benjamin Kellet Longley, twin brothers Benjamin Forest and Richard William (wife Leola deceased). Nephew David Forest Longley, Nieces: Deanna Lee Rose, and Gwendolyn Joy Longley. Survived by sister Mollie Weir (husband Bill deceased), brother James (wife Margaret) and she was blessed with 4 generations of nieces and nephews. Godson Bruce Bezaire (wife Cheryl) family Emily and Joel. Goddaughter Leola Chamberlain (husband Jack) and Tamara Dee Rose.
Elaine was a very accomplished woman. Very strong for family and lived a wonderful adventurous and rewarding life. She became the family mainstay. In her early life, she served in the RCAF Women’s Division during the Second World War. She became a licensed pilot. Elaine served at senior levels at Ford Motors and Chrysler. (U.S.A.) Elaine also studied for a Masters Degree in Theology and became a licensed lay reader at St. James Anglican Church in Paris, Ont.
The family is thankful for all the loving care Elaine received from Doctors, many wonderful nurses and the other workers at Huron Lodge Senior Care. Especially the nurses of the Willow Unit. A Graveside service was held with immediate family only at St. John’s Anglican Church, Windsor, Ont.
