It has been over a year since you've been gone, Elizabeth. I still think of you numerous times a day. There is so much I want to share with you ... new books, my research work with the fisheries, the kids. My mind keeps jumping back to when we shared a room as children. We found such sneaky ways to read in bed without getting caught and talked well into the night about so much silly stuff in the lives of kids. When we got older, you continued to be there for me, although we sometimes lived across the world from each other. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have completed an MSc in Physiology. I probably wouldn't have know what physiology was! I have such great memories of our camping trips, once we took on the roles of parents. I don't think I'll ever stop thinking about you and talking to you. It is a good thing I have a dog. It's better to look like I'm talking to Punk than to myself (or my deceased big sister), right? Oh, Liz, it was such a privilege to have you in my life. I will miss you always. I love you ❤ xoxo

Elizabeth was an outstanding big sister. Memories of growing up in Listowel, backpacking through Europe together for six months, family gatherings, special holidays and wonderful times in Point Clark...will remain with me always. Love you for ever Liz! XOXOXO

My heartfelt condolences got out to Liz's family and friends.  I will forever cherish the many fond memories of my lab-mate at Concordia University.

Chris,  I have great memories of Liz and that crazy house in Japan that we called home for awhile.   She had a wonderful laugh,  a wicked sense of humour and was a good friend in a strange place.  I am very sorry to hear she is no longer with us but grateful for the times we shared.

What wonderful memories I have of  playing cards until the wee hours in the morning with Elizabeth at the cottage.
I would have to say "Elizabeth, I am falling asleep, it is time to go home" she had more energy than anyone I have ever known.
She was brilliant!  Great conversationalist!  Witty and honest.
When I had her over for supper a few years ago we both said "that those were the best years in our lives".
May God be with all of the Munn family during this most difficult time.
She was definitely one of a kind.

It is with great sadness that I find myself remembering happier times. I was one of those proud to call "The Munn's" my second home. During that time I felt I had sorta sisters and one of them was Liz. I can remember the phrase, "Well we can ask Liz", when we needed some wise council about some teenage dilemma that no doubt contained a heaping dose of stupidity. Most times Liz came through looking past the stupid and providing options other than parental intervention.  Seems funny now that we are parents. The Liz I remember was quiet, kind, patient, solid, funny and witty and very intelligent.  I believe she remained just that.  Your loss must be profound but so must be your pride.  Penny

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Elizabeth. When we were young our families spent fun times together, both in Listowel and at the "Munn" cottages. I was able to enjoy a very special time with the two Munn families not that many years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My thoughts are with Elizabeth's family right now. I remember the good old days at LDSS when we all hung out and had fun. So wonderful to see that she had a fulfilling life with family and friends and that she had important work. So sad that her life was cut short.

I have many fond memories of Elizabeth... but especially sleepovers at Winston Street and visiting at the lake.  I saw her in London when she started university... and talked to her about my choices for courses and schools.  Although I had not seen her for a long time, I followed the family posts and kept in touch on Facebook.  Her smile was radiant as ever!

My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.  During our days at Concordia Liz and I shared many good moments in the lab and socially.

Elizabeth was a member of our Public Advisory Council, Detroit River Canadian Cleanup and capably represented the Friends of Canard River. Her comments and suggestions were always intelligent and thought provoking. She was a valuable contributor to our goal--a better and cleaner Detroit River. She will be missed.

I was sorry to hear the sad news about Liz this week. Although I had not seen Liz that often since high school, we had a great visit this summer at Justin and Lisa's wedding. I know that all the Munn family will have many fond memories of Liz dancing and having so much fun with her sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews that day. That is how I will remember Liz - smiling and having fun. My thoughts are with all the Munn family at this difficult time.

Liz was strong, dedicated, and passionate about sessional concerns and education in general. She was kind, compassionate and always had a ready smile (even at the worst of times). She will truly be missed. My heartfelt condolences to the Munn family.

Dr. Munn and I both taught at the University of Windsor together and shared an office. Over time we became friends. Being a very warm and open person, that time was about within the first five minutes of meeting. With that out of the way, we spent the rest of the time talking—often over each other due to all the energy those conversations generated. Occasionally abandoned by our students, we got to have long conversations during our shared office hours. Life histories, families, politics, the economy, and the state of the academy were all shared and discussed. An intellectual, Liz also got all the obscure,nerdy references on my t-shirts. She was always extremely supportive of me and the collective efforts of our sessional cohort. Dr. Munn had a lot of passion and was never afraid to speak out. I remember one frustrated afternoon when I advised patience and she explained, “Scott, you don't understand; I don't have a lot of time to be patient.” After she explained, I did understand. At that point, I shared her frustration—deeply. She asked if I would be prepared to assume her course should her second round of chemotherapy not allow her to teach, which was of course extremely conscientious, but nothing I looked forward to save for it allowing her to fully focus on recuperating. I was very hopeful when I saw her this summer when she attended our Sessional Committee meeting. In mid-October, I randomly ran into her one unusually warm day at a county winery. There was a serenity about her. We had a bit of a conversation, which I cut somewhat short so she could go eat, and shared a warm and slightly extended hug. I did not suspect that this would be the last. She is and will be very much missed.

We were so sorry to here of Elizebeths passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Munn family.

Liz was a kind person, a valued academic colleague, and a tireless fighter for better working conditions at the University of Windsor. We will miss her immensely. Our sincerest condolences to her family and other friends.

Elizabeth, as I always called her along with Liz is one of my oldest friends. She was one of the bravest and loving people I have ever known.  We both laughed during the time she had braces and I had a silver tooth. Felt we were both unlucky with teeth but lucky with life, laughter and friends. Were happy when we both got rid of the silver. Our teen years had lots of challenges and I was so glad to have her as a friend. Had fun at church groups and she was always the easiest person to be with and share stories. Was so glad to see her a few years ago and catch up.  Felt like we never had been apart. I will miss her and my love goes out to the family during this very difficult time. I haven't seen you for years, Elizabeth, but we grew up in the same small town, attended the same classes, walked the same beach and shared many of the same experiences. I remember your laugh, your smile, your intelligence and always felt a comfort knowing you and your family were there, our fun, friendly neighbours down the beach.  You'll be deeply missed.
