Evelyn "Mae" (formerly Storie, nee Calvert) Carter

Predeceased by her first husband Jack Storie (1989) and second husband Jim Carter (2005). Loving mother of Bill Storie (Carol Gagnon), Tim Storie (late Sandy 2020), Bob Storie (Debbie), and Mickey Turner (Barry). Mim will be missed by her grandkids; Jason Storie (Stacey), Brenda Storie-Davis (late Marlon), Kim Harcus-McLaughlin (Chris), Guy Harcus, and Ashley Storie-Markus (Ian), Hayley Storie and Vanessa Storie and their mother Debbie Taylor-Storie (Laurie). Proud great-grandmother of Brittney, Tyler, Mikeal, Kayle, Ethan, Ava, Nolan, Morgan and Claire. Great-great-grandmother of Jacob, Rhealynne and Karter. Predeceased by her sister Hazel Kirk and daughter-in-law Donna Storie. Auntie Mae will be missed by the Kirk, Courtin and Morrison families and her long time friend Ev Morrison.

Mae was a proud employee of the International Joint Commission where she worked until the age of 84. She was a life member at the Legion Branch 143 and the Ladies Auxiliary. A special thank you goes to the wonderful staff of Extendicare Tecumseh, especially Oldcastle House who went above and beyond expectations during these very difficult times.

A private funeral service will take place. Cremation to follow. A memorial service and interment will take place in Barrie at a later date. More details to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Extendicare Tecumseh Residents’ Council, local Hospice or a charity of your choice.
