Now reunited with her husband Colonel Michael William Powers. She is survived by her only child Tiffany Powers (Dé Lé Pour).
Frances is predeceased by her parents Omer Axford and Lydia Axford nee McIlwain, her Brother, the late John Axford and Sister, the late Iva Axford Cassidy.
Frances attended Patterson collegiate high school and went on to graduate from Quo Vadis Nursing School at the University of Toronto. She received her master’s degree in Nursing Science from the University of Windsor, where she continued her career in nursing.
Frances was always involved in her church and served in church positions such as Relief Society president, head of music, primary and young women’s and missionary work.
Frances also was a dramatic soprano opera singer who received the Grenell scholarship of music to the Metropolitan opera in New York City, the Kiwanis festival rose bowl for singing and held an ARTC in voice performance and piano.
Frances will be dearly missed by all who knew her and her church family.
