Dearly loved husband of Carol Anne Thomson (Little) and extremely proud father of “my favourite daughter” Trisha, “my favourite daughter” Deni (and my Portuguese brandy son in law Paul) and my “favourite daughter” Tori. The best Papa to Kirby (The Kirbster), Mighty Maxx, Mackenzie (my golfing buddy) and Jake (my ice cream and camping buddy). Son of Walter and Lillian Thomson predeceased, Brother of Dr. Hugh Thomson (Judy) of Toronto and uncle to Andrea, Dan and Melissa. Fun loving brother in law to Alex and Sandy (Little) Zakosky and uncle to Sarah and Ben. Son in law to June Renaud (Little).
Sandy had a wonderful and fulfilling career. He was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice in 1992 and even within the last weeks of his life still wanted to go to work. He had a love of nature, particularly the mountains in British Columbia, he loved to travel down any road that said ‘no trespassing’ and could be found on the golf course on any given day.
Sandy was loved by a group of lifelong friends. A special thank you to Greg Baker for travelling route 66 and for so much more. A big hug to Liza Girard and Barb Kuker.
We especially thank the nurses and volunteers at the Gail and Don Rodzik Residence at the Hospice Village and Vince and Dianne Cardella for not only being invaluable friends, but also for providing us breakfast, lunch and dinner as they do every day for the residents of the Hospice Village. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, a remembrance in Sandy’s honour may be made to Hospice Village.
Cremation has taken place. Sandy’s wishes were to have a memorial service at St. Mark’s by the Lake Church, St. Clair Beach to celebrate his life. Family and friends are invited to come together on January 7, 2012 at 11:00am.
