Beloved husband to Kita, with whom he recently celebrated a remarkable 67 years of marriage. He was predeceased by his parents, Dimko and his devoted mother Lenka, whose values of strength, perseverance, and family he carried with him throughout his life.
A loving and devoted father to Zagorka, Elica Berry, and Sonja, cherished father-in-law to Peter Berry. He was a proud grandfather to “Dedo’s boys” Brandon and Brad, who brought him immense joy and pride. Dad was dearly loved by his many nieces and nephews, as well as his wide circle of friends who will remember him for his quick wit, warm smile, and wonderful sense of humour.
Born in Bukovo, Macedonia during difficult times, Dad grew up with dreams of a better life. Those dreams first led him to Australia, where he worked tirelessly while separated from his young family for four years. Dad returned to Macedonia with enough money to move his family to Canada in 1966 and start a new life.
For nearly 40 years, he was the proud owner of the Blue Bell Restaurant, it was his second home. A place where customers became friends, and friends became family. His dedication, work ethic, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone who walked through the door.
Dad will always be remembered as a kind and selfless man with a warm, generous heart. His legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will live on through his family and all those whose lives he touched.
Heartfelt gratitude to the WRH 6 North staff for your exceptional care, we know we’re a lot. Sincere thanks to Dr. Naidu and Dr. Morgan for your compassion and Dr Aoun for your guidance throughout this difficult journey.
If so desired, donations in Dad’s memory may be made out to St. Nicholas Macedonian Church, which he was a proud founding member of.
