Passed away peacefully on January 20, 2014 at the age of 83. Loving wife of Robert "Bob" Brown for 49 years. Devoted Mother of Neal (Carroll) and Michael (Andrea). Adoring Grandmother (aka JoJo) of J.R., Ryan, Jack and Max. She will be missed by her siblings Neal (Emily), John (Vicki), and Kay. She will also be missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Joanne was a true friend to many people on both sides of the Atlantic, a loving mother who always put her children first and an adoring wife. However, when asked what she did, she had only one response; "I am an actress". She was in more than thirty plays and won many awards for her leading and supporting roles in the Toronto and Detroit areas. Donations in memory of Joanne may be made to Save the Children or the Grosse Pointe Theatre. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (519-252-5711) on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:00 am.
