It is with grim faces and clenched hearts we announce the death of our dear father, John Ewing Lyster, November 26, 2016 after a valiant struggle with a social disease. Born and raised in South Durham, Kirkdale, Quebec, late of Windsor. Predeceased by his beloved wife Gail (2005). Son of Archer B. (1972) and Pearl S. Lyster, nee Davidson (1985). John began his career at Seagrams in Montreal before being transferred to the Amherstburg bottling plant where he met his future wife Gail. For over 30 years he attended to pigments, dispersions and logistics at BASF, Milford Plant, Dearborn. A Lieutenant with the Canadian Grenadier Guards, he was a founding and long-serving member of the Military Institute of Windsor, and the last surviving founder of the First Friday Breakfast Club (1989). He served on the Commissionaires Board of Governors from 1993-2010. A memorial service will be held this first Friday of December (2nd) at Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home, 1969 Wyandotte Street E. Visitation at 1 pm. Service at 2 pm. Reception to follow. At John’s request, cremation has taken place. Kind donations in lieu of flowers to Windsor Goodfellows or The Hospice of WEC.
