

It is with deep regret that we announce Phil’s passing on January 20, 2015 with his family by his side. Left behind to mourn are his loving wife Rosie, his children David (Katie), Larry (Barb), Ron (Peggy), his late daughter (Diane), Greg (Sue), Lorie (Bill), Jerry (Bridget) his 15 grandchildren and his 5 great grandchildren as well as his many special friends. Phil was born in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1934, moved to Peggy’s Cove in 1937 and Toronto in 1944 where he lived until his move to Windsor 27 years later. At this time he purchased Post Paper Box Company renaming it Post Packaging. In 1991 he sold the company to his sons Larry and David Howe but continued to own and run The Walker Power Bldg. until 2005. Some of Phil’s life accomplishments include being a member of the Scarborough Kinsman Club, director of Ontario Lacrosse Association from 1973-1978, being an avid blood donor; giving over 75 pints, being involved and running campaigns for the PC Party throughout the 70’s, a founding member of the St. Clair Beach Tennis Club, director at Essex Racket and Fitness Club as well as being the past condo association president of Westchester and Colony at the Park and current president at Canterbury. A Celebration of Phil’s life will take place at a later date, his cremations arrangements have been entrusted to Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (519-252-5711).
