Sandra Faye Garbutt

Died peacefully in her sleep at age 81 on June 23rd, 2025, at the Valparaiso Care & Rehab Facility in Indiana where they have lovingly taken care of her for over 10 years after her debilitating stroke 16 years ago. Her only child Monique, son-in-law, Evan, and lifelong best friend, Barbara Pill (nee Topolie of Toronto) were by her side in the days leading up to her passing just days after Monique’s birthday, which Sande valiantly held on to celebrate.

Loving wife of the late Robert Garbutt (Michigan). Sande is survived by her daughter Monique Meloche (husband Evan Boris of Chicago), step-children, Gwen Bettini (husband Bill and children Alex, Emily and Robert) and Greg Garbutt, siblings, Daryl Lande (wife Debbie) and Carol Garry (Pete Murch) of London, Ontario, and her nieces and nephew Cande, Lizzy, Eric, Jennifer, and Lauren. Predeceased by parents Mabel and Ole Lande, and brother-in-law, Jim Garry. She will also be missed by her first husband, Frank Meloche of Windsor, Ontario and many cousins from the Reagan family across Western Canada.

Sandra went from farmgirl in Saskatchewan to beauty queen 5 times over, including Miss Western Ontario 1962. After a successful modelling career, her passion turned to bringing Christ’s love to people during a time of need as a minister with Stephen Ministries in Bradenton/Sarasota, Florida.

Come celebrate Sandra’s legacy of faith, family and fashion and dress to impress – she loved the idea of “Sunday Best” so bright colors and hats encouraged. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Ave., Windsor (519) 254-3223 on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM.
