Rounding, Sherwood Ernie November 21, 1924 – April 21, 2010. In his 85th year Dad passed away peacefully at Sunrise of Windsor. Predeceased by his parents Melroy (1974) and Annie (1973); his wife of 45 years Mildred (nee Miller, 1990) and 3 years to Pauline (Bridges nee Sadle, 1997). Loving father to Sherry McIlwain (William) and Nancy Bennett (Donald) of Windsor. Grandfather and great grandfather to Julie Durocher (Kevin) – Joelli & Troy; Derek Drekic (Julie) – Samuel; Marnie O’Keefe (John) – Mackenzie & Mitchell; Michael Bennett (Shirley) – Hailey & Tyler; Cindy Meser (Steven) – Kate & Amanda. Brother to (deceased) Wallace (Helen); Stewart (deceased Rita); Evelyn Cox (Robert); Thomas (Lydia); Morley (Marjorie); (deceased) Nelda; Alice Hutchinson (deceased James); Wayne (Marianne). Brother – in-law to Olive Heron (deceased Gordon). Many nieces and nephews will miss “Uncle Shay”. Dear friend of Phyllis Taylor (2009). Served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, 1943-1946. A retired CN Locomotive Engineer and Via Passenger Service with 45 years of service. Member of the Lincoln Road United Church Elders and Men’s Club, Air Force Club and Kiwanis Club. Special thanks to the dedicated staff at Sunrise for their compassion, care and love. Visitation will be on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at the Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home (1969 Wyandotte St., E, Windsor. 519-252-5711), where a funeral will take place on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10:30am. Interment at Windsor Memorial Gardens. If you so desire donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Transition to Betterness.
