

Died February 27th, 2016 at 95 years of age. Born Semans, Saskatchewan June 26, 1920. Husband of Jean Stokes Willson (1987) and Patricia Moore. Survived by children Katherine McLean Willson (Robert) Patrick) of Oakville, Richard William Willson (Robin Scherr) of Los Angeles, CA, and Ian Alexander Willson (Natasha) of Sammamish, WA. Stepfather to Alison Smith (Fred), David Moore, and Valerie Durnford (Bill). Beloved grandfather to Kelly, Kevin, Ilya, Jenna, Lisa, Maya, and Sarah and great-grandfather to Rowan, Wyatt, Sullivan, and Parker. Predeceased by brother Jack Willson and sister Amy Jeffs. Survived by sister-in-law Grace Willson.
Graduate of Osgood Hall Law School 1947 with Gold Medal. Graduate of Walkerville Collegiate with Gold Medal.
Served with rank of Captain in the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in WW II in France, Belgium, and Holland. Awarded Chevalier of the Order of Leopold II Avec Palm by the Kingdom of Belgium.
Member of the Kiwanis Club of Windsor for 65 years. Served as president of the Kiwanis Club of Windsor, the Ontario Choral Federation, the Essex Law Association, the Greater Windsor Foundation, and other associations. Chair of Session and President of the Choir at Lincoln Road United Church. Lifetime interests in travel, choral music, book collecting, mystery fiction and railroads.
Visitation will be held at Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home, 1969 Wyandotte East on Saturday, March 5th from 1:00PM until the memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life at 2:00 PM. Inurnment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Windsor Children’s Camp.
