Alex was born in Souris Manitoba. Growing up there he completed his schooling and then attended the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg earning a Degree in Engineering. He then spent the rest of his life doing what he loved. Travel and farming. Family members remaining to remember Alex are his brothers Peter and Paul.
Alex was familiar with and cherished the Bible’s prophecy at Psalm 37:11 that promises God’s original purpose for humans will be realized.“But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.”
Alex spent time investigating what to him was the seeming banality of life. He was especially very interested in life’s big questions. Answers to questions such as:
What is the meaning of life?
Is God to blame for our suffering?
What happens when you die?
He found satisfying answers to these and other life’s questions explained on the website JW.ORG. Knowing the Bible’s answers for his questions he lived happy and experienced Jesus’ words: “and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” His desire was to support the efforts of this resource that explains Bible truths.
Thanks to all his wonderful friends and for the many kind and heartwarming expressions. While in the hospital Alex did mention the care he received at St Boniface hospital saying it was world class. Thanks also for the help and assistance of his special friend Jeff, and his longtime neighbours Todd, and Donna.
A private interment at Souris Glenwood cemetery has taken place.
