Mrs. Anne Bilawka Horobec

She was predeceased by her husband, George, her brother, Bill, sister-in-law, Teenie, sister, Daisy, brother, Mike, and brother, Joe.

She is survived by her son, Allan (Cathy) Horobec, sisters, Eva (Grant) and Mary, and brothers Peter (Sonia) and Matt, and sister-in-laws Angie, Florence and Lillian, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Anne was born in the Rossburn district on the farm on December 30, 1920. She left home as a teenager to work on other family farms in the area. She moved to Winnipeg where she met her husband, George. They were married in Winnipeg on October 14, 1944.

Anne enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. She also loved going to the cottage at Nutimik lake. She was also fond of her dogs and her cats.

Anne spent the last years of her life in Holy Family Nursing Home and the family would like to thank the staff for their excellent care.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, August 25th, 2011 at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. A Reception will follow the service at St. Joseph’s. Interment will follow in Transcona Cemetery. The Lord took her away and said come with me, rest in peace.
