Anthony (Tony) Kinal
November 29, 1951 - November 23, 2022
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Tony, on Wednesday, November 23,
2022. Tony passed away peacefully in his sleep following his Wednesday bike ride with his
friends in Birds Hill Park.
Tony was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the North End. His career was with the CNR for 35
years. He was able to have 15 full years of retirement while enjoying all of his passions such as
cycling, canoeing, kayaking, boat building, camping and anything to do with the outdoors. He
loved everything in nature and enjoyed sharing his stories about his adventures. Tony had a
thirst for curiosity when it came to his hobbies, a book was always in hand.
He was so thrilled when his first grandchild Valentina was born on his birthday and was named
after his mother. The two had such a beautiful bond. He just adored his granddaughters. After
his last visit with his granddaughters, he turned around as he was leaving to look at the girls
and said, “Now that is what life is about.”
His two sons were his pride and joy. His friends were his extended family. His two
granddaughters were the highlight of his day.
Tony you were taken too soon but you lived and died the way you wanted. We will miss you and
love you, always. Your legacy will live on.
Survived by his wife Kathleen, sons Jeffrey (Rochelle), Andrew (Micky) and his precious
Granddaughters Valentina and Gracie, brother and sister in laws Ian (Joanne), Colin (Gwen),
Gisele (Dana), nephews Justin, Matthew, Jordan and Joel, sister Bernice as well as many
cousins and friends.
Our family would like to thank everyone for all the wonderful, caring support we have received
during this difficult time. It has really meant so much to us.
A celebration of Tony’s life will take place at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.thomsoninthepark.com for the Kinal family.
