Park Lodge at the age of 87.
Anne was predeceased by her husband Herb of Gilbert Plains on September 9, 2000. She was also predeceased by her siblings Fred, Don, Bonnie, Helen, and Jean of Swan River. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Larry and Kirk (Dianne), as well as her granddaughter RuthAnne and step-granddaughter Carina.
A lifelong Manitoban, Anne was born March 6, 1933, in Swan River. Her love of animals started as a child, and she grew up taking care of horses on the farm. As a young schoolteacher, she met Herb, and they wed in Gilbert Plains on October 9, 1953. They farmed briefly together in Gilbert Plains before moving to Winnipeg where they raised their two sons, first on Linwood Street and later on Mandeville Street in St. James. After Herb’s passing, Anne and her sister Jean lived together for 15 years. Anne enjoyed spending time with loved ones, especially over a cup of hot water with lemon, or over ice cream at the Dutch Maid. She was an active member of the Southdale Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and cherished the friendships she made there. Anne was loving and kind — a gentle soul with a great sense of humour and a love for all animals — and she will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the Winnipeg Humane Society in her name.
