Audrey was born and raised in Elmwood where she graduated high school and went on to work for the public health department as a secretary. She married her childhood sweetheart Walter in 1947 and they went on to share a life filled with family and friends.
Audrey had many lifelong friendships and enjoyed “club” get togethers where the ladies would chat and share dainties and treats leaving the spoils for her family the next day.
She and Walter were avid square dancers for a time joining Mary and Wes for a dosey do.
She was an accomplished seamstress making everything from dresses to coats. For her daughter Colleen’s wedding she made Colleen’s dress, Barbara’s bridesmaid dress, her own dress and a suit for Andrew.
Audrey loved bowling and belonged to the Melrose Ladies League for many years often acting as secretary.
She spent many happy summers at Brereton Lake, swimming, canoeing, taking long walks and spending happy times with her family.
Audrey was especially close with her sister Bev. They, with their husbands Walt and Charlie, had many good times together playing board games and sharing a laugh.
She and Walter loved packing up their camper and heading west to experience the Rockies, Waterton Lakes and some of the northern states. Rushing River was a favourite camping destination too. On occasion she headed west again to experience Clear Lake with Colleen and Jennifer.
Later in her life she travelled to Hawaii every winter with her in laws Pat and Norm where she loved strolling on the beach, whale watching and getting away from Winnipeg winters for a while.
Audrey was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1993 her daughter Colleen in 2017, parents Frank and Vanessa Nash her sisters Virginia and Beverly and brother Culver (Pete).
She leaves to mourn children Michael, Barbara and Andrew (Natalie). Grandchildren Jennifer (Kristjan), Zachary, Sarah and Abigail and Great grandchild Finn.
The immediate family will honour Audrey with a private celebration of her life.
