It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernadette, loving sister, mother, daughter, grandmother and great-grandmother who passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Bernadette was predeceased by her parents David and Isabel Seymour; brother Max Arnott and sister Gladys Redsky.
She leaves to mourn, her sons Dale Countryman, Frankie and Joey Seymour; daughters Angela Seymour, Kelly Birtwhistle (Dale), and Tiff Bilsky (Paul); grandchildren James, Jake, Chloey and Red; and great-grandchild Aven.
Bernadette also leaves to mourn her sisters Norah Warren (Mark), Annette Frobb; brothers Joe Seymour and Arthur Arnott and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bernadette was born in Kenora, Ontario on December 5, 1948 where she spent much of her early life with the Lajeunesse family who were friends of her mother, Isabel. She then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where she raised her children and learned her lifetime art of creating First Nations beaded jewelry. Bernadette continued her education by obtaining her high school diploma and later her Bachelor of Nursing degree at the University of Manitoba. She spent her career caring for her patients at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home. Her loving and caring persona will live on in all those who knew and adored her.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway.
