It is with deep sadness that the family of Clint James Acheson announces his passing on November 30, 2025, at the age of 81.
Clint was born on September 22, 1944, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is survived by his loving wife Louise Acheson (née Nowick); his daughter Lani Parker and son-in-law Phil Parker; his son Graeme Acheson and daughter-in-law Lindsey Acheson; and his brother Fred Acheson. Clint was a proud and devoted grandfather to Ethan, Jensen, Kaylee, and Tyler, each of whom brought him tremendous joy. Clint was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Blanche Acheson; his first wife, Angie (née Derkatch); and his sister-in-law Eve Acheson.
Sports were a lifelong passion for Clint. In his youth he played football and hockey, and as an adult he remained an enthusiastic supporter of his hometown team, holding Winnipeg Blue Bombers season tickets for more than 25 years. He loved fishing and spending time with his family at their cabins in Lac du Bonnet and Lake Metigoshe. In recent years, nothing made him happier than watching his grandchildren on the ice or the field—cheering on Jensen, Kaylee, and Tyler in hockey, and Tyler in football. He treasured every fishing trip he shared with his grandsons.
Clint built a remarkable career spanning nearly 50 years in the food industry. He worked with Swifts and Schneiders before operating his own business, an M&M Meat Shops franchise, for 25 years. His work allowed him to meet countless customers who became close friends. His time with Schneiders took him to Kitchener, Ontario, where his children Lani and Graeme were born and where the family formed many lifelong friendships.
Family was at the centre of Clint’s life. He loved holiday gatherings, family celebrations, and any opportunity to spend time with the people he cherished. He built deep connections with his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many extended family members, always taking an interest in their lives. Clint was a gifted storyteller who enjoyed sharing memories and listening to the stories of others. His genuine curiosity and warm presence made people feel valued—he was often the last one at the party, still visiting, laughing, and making others feel welcome.
Clint will be remembered for his kindness, his enthusiasm for life, his unwavering support for his loved ones, and the many memories he created with family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
His family kindly requests that his friends and relatives visit a website that celebrates Clint's life. We would be honoured by any messages, pictures or stories shared in the Memories and Condolences section.
