It is with great sadness that we must announce the sudden passing of Cynthia Driedger in the early hours of Thursday, July 6, 2017.
She is survived by her husband and best friend Victor Driedger; her children Matthew (Lani), Colleen (David), Patrick (Jamie), James (Amanda), and beloved son Nikolas.
She is also survived by her many brothers Greg (Caroline), Chris ( Beverly), Gary (Marie), John (Susan); as well as 17 grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews.
Born in 1955 in Saskatchewan, home of her beloved Roughriders. Cindy Lyn was the blond-haired green eyed apple of her Daddy’s eye. Born to up and coming radio announcer Gren Marsh and his sultry songstress Lorraine. Cynthia grew up with a great appreciation for music, fun and family. In fact spending time with her extended family camping or laughing over a meal was a great source of joy in her life.
Beyond family and music, Mom had a deep love of animals. She loved to give the horsies a nice pat, gardening, reading, hockey and the Winnipeg Jets, camping at Lake Nutimik, her furry baby Sophie, and having coffee in the morning with the love of her life.
Grandchildren will remember her warm hugs, delicious food and spooky stories. We will all miss her love and concern, her endless generosity and the way her laugh would turn to a cackle if your joke was funny enough.
Anybody who has ever been in her home was treated like family. She was known as the kind lady who took in strays, human or animal. And she was everyone’s best friend.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
She loved, and was loved. RIP Cindy Lynn.
