Dorothy Helen McColl

1925 – 2014

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy McColl on July 19, 2014 at the age of 88 years at Concordia Hospital.

Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband Thomas and wonderful daughter Heather (Andre), and her sisters Peggy (George), Bunty (Glen) and Leonora (Bill)

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her son Greg (Kathy) and grandchildren Ashley, Colin, and Sean.

Dorothy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 6, 1925. She met her devoted husband Thomas in Winnipeg and they married on May 22, 1948. Dorothy held numerous administrative support positions over the years including at the River East School Division. Dorothy was an avid gardener and animal lover, having adopted numerous animals from the humane society. She will be best remembered as a very caring and generous person who was always willing to help family and friends in a time of need. She was always very active and enjoyed the friendly competition of her bowling and golf leagues.

A memorial celebration will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00 am at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Highway, Winnipeg, MB., R2G 1P4.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate may do so to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
