

Born in Winnipeg, Dorothy was brought up and raised in the small rural farming community of Osbourne, MB. She attended Osbourne Elementary School from grades 1 to 9. She later moved to Winnipeg to complete her education, where she took an eight-month stenographic course at college. Upon completion of the course, she gained employment with the Provincial Government.
In 1959, she married Peter Nowicki. In 1962, she took a break from work to raise a family.
In 1981, when her children were grown, she re-entered the workforce and worked for the Provincial Government once again (Department of Agriculture) until April 1992, at which time she retired.
During retirement, she traveled with Peter to Hawaii, Mexico, Las Vegas, California, Victoria, BC, Ottawa, London, ON, and Edmonton, AB, as well as on many other bus trips to U.S. destinations.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Peter, son, Scott (Debbie), and granddaughter Erin, of Winnipeg, as well as her daughter Karen (Kevin) of Edmonton, AB. She is also survived by an extended family of nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be no service. Cremation has taken place, with a private family interment at a later date.
