AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Enid Rona Palmer

Avis de décès de Enid Rona Palmer
AUX SOINS DE

Thomson In The Park Funeral Home and Cemetery

Remembered With Love

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Enid Palmer passed away peacefully on June 27. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Diane (Lawrence) Trudeau, son Bill (Elizabeth) Palmer, daughter-in-law Bonnie Palmer and grandchildren Kristine Trudeau, Michael (Katrina) Trudeau, Daniel (Natalee) Palmer, and great granddaughter Amelia Palmer, niece Joan Stewart-Jones, and close friends Brian Norris and Hilda Wagstaff.

Enid was born in 1924 in Slough, England though she spent the majority of her youth in Lincolnshire. She was predeceased by her father Arthur Jacklin, mother Dorothy and sister Wray Jacklin, all of Lincoln, England.

Enid attended Lincoln College to become a teacher in 1944. She met Flight Lieutenant Ralph Palmer in 1945 and came to Canada in 1947 to marry him. She was a teacher at Manitoba Commercial College from 1960-1970 then was a teacher-librarian for Wpg. School Division for 10 years at Mulvey School.

Family was important to Enid—despite the distance, she maintained a close relationship with her sister and was a dedicated wife, mother, grand and great grandmother to a family who adored her eternal optimism and joie de vivre. Her creativity was boundless and she shared her love of gardening, painting, knitting and other crafts with her family. She was an incredibly knowledgeable, astute and intelligent woman who read voraciously and was a gifted painter. Her creativity touched the lives of all around her, from the games she created to the plays she wrote.

She and Ralph had many wonderful travels with their trailer, wintered in Florida and happy summer days at the family cottage at Lac Lu. She loved to play golf, and was one time member of Southwood Golf and Bell Acres courses. Their latter years were spent at Beauchemin Park Place with many good friends. The last two years of her life she enjoyed her time at BrightWater Senior Living Tuxedo (where she impressed staff and residents with her trivia prowess).

Enid was a perpetually positive presence in our family who could always see the silver lining. She was a kind, loving, creative and intelligent woman who loved and lived life to the fullest.

A private family internment was held at Enid’s request. In lieu of flowers send donations to the Alzheimer Society.
