Felipe Zaportisa Ilago

It is with deep sadness that the family of Felipe Zaportisa Ilago announces his peaceful passing on March 2, 2026, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 85.

Felipe was born on May 1, 1940, in Lagonglong, Province of Misamis Oriental, Philippines, where he spent his early years before building a life rooted in love, family, and unwavering dedication. On July 8, 1964, he married the love of his life, Concepcion, with whom he shared a long and devoted partnership.

In 1974, Felipe made the life-changing decision to bring his young family to Winnipeg, Manitoba, embracing new opportunities and building the foundation for the bright future they enjoy today.

He will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by his wife, Concepcion Ilago, and their children: Ariel (Lynn), Arlene (Francisco), and Alma Marie (Lem). Felipe was a proud grandfather whose legacy continues through his grandchildren: Carlene (Niza) – Great Grandchild Kenzin, Brandon (Jenn), Christian, Marisa, Alex and Ace.

Felipe is also survived by his sister Conching and many extended family members, who will hold his memory close. He was predeceased by his parents, Domingo and Catalina, as well as his siblings Rafael, Necisio, Emilio, Lucresia, Columba, and Dolores.

Felipe’s life was marked by quiet strength, generosity, and a deep love for his family. His presence brought warmth to every gathering, and his stories, wisdom, and gentle humour will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Grace Hospital for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba and Diabetes Canada in Felipe’s memory.

Felipe leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were blessed to share in his life.

Visitation will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, , on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 6:30 pm to 11:30 pm, with a Prayer Service at 8:00 pm

A Funeral Service will take place at St. Edward the Confessor Parish, 836 Arlington St, Winnipeg, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:00 am.

A Committal Service will be held at Thomson In The Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, following the Mass, followed by a Reception at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home.
