Georges LaFrenière

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Georges LaFrenière (age 68) on February 21, 2025, in Winnipeg, following his battle with cancer.

Georges was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on March 14, 1956 to Jean and Suzanne LaFrenière (second oldest of four children). He will be fondly remembered by his four children, daughter Natalie (Bill), sons Eric (Dania), Rémi (Estele) and Pierre (Kara); and his seven grandchildren Thomas, Alex, Emily, Zoë, Nora, Arlo and Benjamin. Georges will also be sadly missed by his girlfriend Karen.

After graduating from the University of Winnipeg, Georges spent over 40 years as a well-respected surety bonding professional. He was dedicated to his clients and had many long-lasting relationships within the industry.

Georges was a loving father who cared deeply for his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and always supported his children in their sports and education. As a passionate and talented musician, he also liked to entertain family and friends by playing the piano and accordion.

A private celebration of life will be held in his memory.
