IIt is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our Father, Nonno and Brother Giuliano. He was born in Amato, Italy to Carmine and Rachela Scarpino.. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Carmine (Anita) Tony (Rosa) and daughter Julie (Tom), grandchildren Adam (Isabelle), Carla (Ian), Stefano, Liam and great-grandchildren Jace, Stella, Theodore and Violet, sister Maria Racano, and In-laws Ralph Aiello and Marina Di Nella, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years Loretta, his parents, his sister Angela, his brother Francesco, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws..
He was born into a family of four and married his wife Loretta in June of 1954 before immigrating to Canada in March 1955 and made Winnipeg their home. Dad learned his trade of tailoring at age 11 and continued to tailor for over 70 years. Dad was joined in Winnipeg by his entire family and he and Mom were always in the company of brothers and sisters. Dad also enjoyed the company of his hometown friends who also immigrated to Winnipeg and partook in many events held by the Fratellanza Amatese. Dad was an avid soccer fan with AC Milan being his favorite Serie A team. Ferrari was of course his favorite Formula 1 team. Dad enjoyed gardening, long walks, visits from his grand/great-grand children and visiting with friends and family.
