Gloria Glo Anne Kruk Dahlin

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Gloria on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the age of 64. Gloria passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side.

Glo will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ted of 33 years and her beloved children Erin and Patrick. Also left to cherish her memory; her mother Annie Kruk of Beausejour, sisters Violet Potter of Virginia, Lorraine and Jack Lysak of Winnipeg, Adeline and Wayne Gutscher of Killarney and brother Lawrence and Isabel Kruk of Selkirk. Glo was aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father Harry Kruk in 2002 and brother in law Bill Potter of Virginia in 2009.

Glo was born October 25, 1947 on the family farm in Allegra, MB north of Beausejour. She was long time member of the Holy Ghost Church in Beausejour. She went to school in Beausejour and later moved to Winnipeg where she achieved her accounting degree and went to work for Nothart Engineering, later Nothart Engineered Sales for more than 30 years.

Family was everything to her and gathering at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas were always a special time. Glo loved to sew and made much of her own clothing. She loved to oil paint and was looking forward to resuming that upon retirement. She loved camping, fishing, gardening, golfing, and most recently travelling to the Mediterranean and Panama Canal. She was a member of the Greendell Dolls, a group of gals who participated in marathons and fund raising events and generally just liked to have a good time. She had an uncanny ability to make friends. Mom, you are a very special lady, my best friend, the love of my life, you will be missed and your time with us will be forever remembered and cherished.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.

The family wishes to thank all the nurses and doctors at Cancer Care Manitoba, the Palliative care nurses who came to our home (special thanks to Olga) and the Home Care workers.
